2016 Volunteer of the Year

– THANK YOU SHIRLEY FESTER –

In October 2016, Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation enjoyed a lovely evening at the 16th Haldimand Recognition Night amongst over 300 volunteers and organizations from Haldimand County. It was an honour to celebrate with so many incredible individuals from our community who are generous with their time and bring life to many incredible charitable and community endeavours.

– 16TH HALDIMAND RECOGNITION NIGHT –

At the Haldimand Recognition Night they said “Volunteers are remarkable people with extraordinary hearts”—and we couldn’t agree more. We would like to take this time to thank Shirley Fester and recognize the many devoted hours she has kindly and selflessly given to the Foundation! Join us as we reflect on all the many ways Shirley helps support DHHF!

– CARE & WIN LOTTERY –

From April 15 until September 15, Shirley spent many days selling hundreds of tickets for our Care & Win Lottery at various local sales outlets. She also helped us pull the second and third prize winners at the final draw!

– RIDE RUN OR WALK FOR YOUR HOSPITAL –

Later in the summer, Shirley raised over $10,000 in pledges from our community by walking door to door and sitting outside local businesses. She participated in our Ride, Run or Walk for Your Hospital on Saturday August 27 and was our highest pledge collector!

– YARD SALE AND ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS SALE –

In addition to helping with Foundation events, Shirley also hosts a summer yard sale and an annual “All Things Christmas” Sale that runs all November long. She donates all proceeds to the new Emergency Department project. Stay tuned, in the New Year you’ll be seeing Shirley in local sales outlets selling tickets for our Quilt Raffle!

– THANKS AGAIN –

If you see Shirley, be sure to thank her for all she does to support healthcare in our community. Shirley, your loyalty, commitment and kindness do not go unnoticed; we appreciate all you do for Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation and the future of our healthcare!
