This holiday season, will you help us raise enough money to purchase a newer, better machine?
On Saturday November 4, the Foundation held our first in person Hearts & Heroes Winter Wonderland Gala to raise funds for the new CT Scanner required at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital. It was a beautiful event from start to finish, as guests were greeted upon arrival with a small bouquet of flowers courtesy of Rosa Flora and a lovely holiday cocktail to begin their evening. The splendor of the Winter Wonderland theme was captured from the moment guests arrived. The vision was brought to life by Tammy Summers of I Do Décor and Rentals from here in Dunnville.
With light background music guests mingled and enjoyed the delicate hors d’oeuvres provided by Debb’s Cuisine on Queen.
During the formal part of the program, the guests were entertained by the very popular Matt Hayes. The formal program began with a tribute to Rosa Flora our Presenting Sponsors. After a beautiful blessing from Ralph and Arielle DeBoer (Rosa Flora), guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Debb Davies.
Sharon Moore, President and CEO of HWMH and EG along with Joanna Brzozowska Board Chair of the same, shared the impact donor support has within the hospital itself.
The audience was moved to tears to hear the life-saving story of Nicole Breadner. Nicole shared how with only approximately four hours to live when she arrived at the HWMH emergency department, the team of healthcare professionals, acted quickly with professionalism and kindness and diagnosed her grave condition. Nicole’s story was followed up with a video that showed just how important the CT Scanner at HWMH is and how it showed the significant health risk she was facing.
Upon completion of the video, the Foundation held our very first Fund-A-Need raising $58,630.
The evening wrapped up with some dancing to the fantastic music by Black Creek Music.
The generosity of the guests in attendance was incredible, inspiring, and without a doubt, will see us raise the remaining balance of the $1.5M dollars promised to the hospital for the purchase of the CT Scanner.
On behalf of the DHHF Board of Directors, please accept our heartfelt thank you to our business partners, donors, volunteers, and staff, who made our Hearts & Heroes Winter Wonderland Gala an outstanding success. We are honoured to be a part of a community that is as kind and caring as each one of you.
Thank you,
Sandie Heirwegh
