Have you noticed we changed the Walk, Ride or Run to The Henriette McMichen memorial Stride & Ride?

Henriette started the original walk and recently passed, we appreciate everything she has done and started for DHHF and The Haldimand War Memorial Hospital.
In 1983 Henriette McMichen and her husband Dr. Iain McMichen came to Dunnville with their two very young daughters in tow.
Within a couple of years she had opened an Art and Gift shop in town and at the same time became very involved with the Hospital Auxiliary, as it was known then. In the years of 1998 and 1999 she became President of the Auxiliary and at that time was asked to become Regional President, but because of illness turned it down.
In 2005 as Chairperson of a very active and aggressive fund raising committee, consisting of Marilyn Morley, Pat Fullerton, Ellen Moodie, Tina and Herm DeBoersap, she organized for the first time a Walk For Your Hospital .
The original walk was 25 km and they raised the unprecedented amount of over $50,000 and over the following 4 years raised $180,000 in total.
Henriette always had a great love for the hospital and community and especially for the patients’ wellbeing. She would always insist that patients must come first and would always remain a steadfast advocate for them.
All the staff and friends who knew her well will remember Henriette’s dedication to our hospital and know that she will be with us in spirit that day.
